IVF lottery

Anyone heard about this on the news? Their planning on doing an IVF lottery, you pay about £20 and could win £25k to put towards IVF.

Is this a good idea???

On one hand, it's a good thing, people who so desperately want children but cannot afford to pay for IVF have a small chance of winning.

On the other hand, those who do NOT win get even more dissapointment.

What do you think???

  • I don't understand why adoption isn't a better option than a lottery.

Is it a nonprofit lottery? If not...who's getting the money?

  • I think it's like any lotto.. you put you money in but not your heart. it would be nice to win but if you can't separate yourself from la la land it will be a sad day for you

  • People want to have their own children. It's so easy to say adopting is so easy to choose when you can naturally pro-create a little you on this planet. But when you can't have a child of your own who looks and acts like you etc, it's harder to come to terms with.

I agree with zoejains_momma, it's like any other lottery.
