Tacky or cute?

My friend wants to name her baby Emily only the spelling will be Emahlie or Eh'mahleiygh.

She asked my opinion, told her I'd get back to her on this one...

Her daughter would be named Emily Jane with one of the above spellings and Jane spelled the way we did our DD's Jain (which I regret).

I like the name but the spelling... eh

Emahlie Jain or Eh'mahleiygh Jain

  • So pointless. WTF!?! Why would you do that to someone you love? The first is pretty bad but the second spelling is downright stupid- I mean s'tujhipeed

  • That's horrid.
Emily is a beautiful name. Doing that crap to the spelling makes it look trashy.

  • The first spelling is kind of cute but it'll probably end up being a pain for her and her daughter, especially when people ask how to pronounce her name and then when people hear her name is emily and then spell it wrong, she'll constantly be correcting people about it.
