  • is this question serious?

Answer by alboston at 1:58 PM on Jul. 6, 2011

  • Nope. It's pretty much in the chemical makeup of your eggs, DH's sperm, and the ph level of your vagina. There's nothing you can do other than create a girl in a lab. Runs about $24,000.

  • You can increase your odds, but no method is 100%. Google the Shettles Method. It's based on the female sperm being slow but surviving longer and the male sperm being fast but fragile.

  • once heard that the more stressed you are the more likely to have a girl...which makes sense...i was unbelievably stressed when i became pregnant with both my girls...also some swear by positions, timing, and eating certain foods...personally I think it's coincidence and you have a 50/50 chance no matter what...

  • I always heard that if you have sex 2 or so days before you ovulate that it is more likely to be a girl because they are slow. Boys happen more if you have sex the day you ovulate. Nothing is for sure though.

  • Nope, stuff on the web is as 50-50 as doing nothing at all. The only GUARANTEED way is in the lab. And as noted above, it costs loards.

  • WEELLLL, there IS an exact science but i'm guessing you don't have the $$. Aside from that, it IS known that the sperm that carry the girl chromosome are slower and the sperm that carry the boy chromosome.... so JamieLK is absolutely right. It's worth a shot... haha. pun.

  • Try to use this ovulation calendar tool to find perfect time to conceive a boy or a girl.
