Shepherd? EDIT

Too weird of a name? We might use it as a first or middle name we both liked it and it sounds a lot like my FIL's name Sheffer.

EDIT: Ok what about William Shepherd?

  • Not a name I would pick for my kids as a first name.

Didn't one of the Hanson (mmbop) kids name their kid that?

  • Lizziebreath: The jokes would involve sheep and velcro mittens, sadly.

  • If you like Sheffer, why not go with that? It's a family name and the connection with his grandfather would be priceless...

  • I don't like it. Definitely not something I would use for my own child.

  • We didn't completely like the sound of Sheffer but we like Shepherd it sounded a bit more normal and like everybody would pronounce it wrong. Heck we got the idea for Shepherd from what a name recognition system turned Sheffer into. You won't believe how much mail he get's or even the problems with making reservations were they assume that his name is Clark Sheffer because that just can't be a first name.

  • My opinion is to let FIL keep his own name and let your son have one of his own that preferably does not sound like a large black and tan police dog.
