Should "lacking common sense" be a crime when a child dies as a result?

Don't make me say it ~

  • Parents, regardless of their common sense, should know something as simple as; my daughter isn't breathing, call 911. My daughter is dead, so lets hide her in the woods with duct tape... Sounds like that murderer, i mean, "mother" was lacking more than common sense. That woman is a liar, a poor excuse for a woman, let alone a mother.

  • It already is a crime. Child Endangerment/failure to protect is a crime.

  • That would fit under the neglect umbrella for me. Neglect being a type of abuse.

I don't know why people suddenly lose that knowledge because they were picked to be on a jury. Unbelievable.

  • Typically IQ'd and mentally healthy people should be held 100% accountable for their decisions and actions. I think when you're dealing with people whose mental capabilities fall outside the range of "typical", the situation changes- I would beun comfortable sentencing someone like Andrea Yates to death- Locked away, treated and frequently checked for competency, yes. If and when she is found competent, prosecute away-

  • WHen discussing Caley Anthony I don't think this is an issue of "Lacking common sense". It is a case of no conscience and premeditated murder....she wanted to be free to party. That has nothing to do with lacking common sense/

  • Parenting classes should be mandatory to have a baby I swear. Some people like Casey Anthony are so irresponsible and selfish that it makes me sick that just because some selfish party girl wanted to be "free" to party, a little angel died. So sad.
