  • There is no set amount. It depends on her size and her system.

  • Around 2.5 ounces per pound of body weight. A 10 lb baby needs 25 ounces. A 15 lb baby should have 37 ounces.

  • as the PP said 1.5 to 2.5 oz per pound per day. More during a growth spurt. Also keep in mind they may not take the same amount of formula at each feeding. what they skimp at one meal they will make up at another.

  • Thank You to everyone who posted, it has really helped. My husband and I went ahead and bumped up his formula oz. to 6 ounces for the first four bottles then 5 ounces for the last two bottles putting him at 34 ounces per day. Last ped visit he was 15.6 pounds and I think he is about 16 pounds now.
