My baby has difficulty pooing-what can I give her?

She is trying to poo, making all sorts of sounds and crying as she cant and it must be painful. When she does poo, its very little and very hard. Any recommendations?

  • A little bit of prune juice might help. Just a spoonful. Also make sure she's not dehydrated, offer water if it's hot or she's been out and about.

  • Molasses might work but she might not like the taste. Try clear Karo syrup in either oatmeal or apple juice. That should take care of it.

  • Karo syrup always worked for my kids! Also try pear juice!

  • you could also dilute some prune juice 50/50 with water and give that to her. The bananas may be what is constipating her, they always did my kids. Sugar water helps too.
