  • Yes, DH and I each have individual term life insurance policies in addition to the coverage we get through our workplaces. I’m covered for $250,000 and my DH is covered for $500,000. We recently upped our coverage and got the cheapest life insurance we could find through a reputable company with an excellent financial rating.

  • Yes, I have 2 policies. You're ''supposed'' to have them/it in the amount that it would take to cover the cost of what you make now, until your children turn 18. Say, if you make 50,000 a year now and your kids are 3 & 5, you will need 50,000 X 17 years.

  • We have 250,000 on me. My husband has a policy at work that is 4 times his pay so 1.4 million. We also have two other policies totally nearly 3 million. My husband doesn't want me to worry about working. Told him he better make sure to never die under suspicious

  • All I can afford is $55,000 on my husband, that is $26.00 a month but that covers if he gets disabled too, and in his job, it can totally happen. I have a $30,000 on my daughter for $13.00 a month and through my work I have about a $50,000 for pennies a month.

  • $500,000 on me. And it's true that you want about 8 to 12 times your annual income- but as a SAHM I don't exactly bring in much. That being said, it would cost an arm and a leg should something happen to me. Think about it- I can coupon, grocery shop, watch our son, clean our home. I know some of that my husband can pick up on- but he can't exactly watch our son while he's at work.

I have 20 year fixed term life insurance and I pay $35 a month for it. I am thinking of reapplying though since I've now lost 60 pounds and the reason it was $35 a month instead of closer to $20 is because of my weight. We shall see though.
