How do you get your 2 1/2 year old to talk more??

  • Talk to them! take time out of everyday, and ask them questions, or tell them stories etc :)

  • Take them around as many children as you can. They learn best from each other.

  • As you read them stories, ask them simple questions, like identifying favorites, colors, counting, etc... Ask them to imitate animals, by making the sounds they make. Ask them to name individual objects in your home.

  • well my son just turn 2 and his doc recommend speech couse he should be tlk more so tlk to your doc

  • My son is almost 3 and barely talks. I kept waiting for him to blurt out a sentence like other people I knew, but it never happened. He has been attending speech therapy and preschool 2 days a week. He is talking A LOT more after being around other kids.

  • Is he not saying many words, set up something with your peds to talk to a speech therapist.
