Does anyone else have difficulty gettin their teenagers to take a bath/shower without being told?

My step daughter is the worst about this. Every summer I go thru this with her. She has to be told b4 she will take a bath. I ask her when was the last time u took a bath and she says I dont know. Shes 15 she should take a bath/shower on her own without being told.

  • I go through this with my 11 yr old. Her response is, "but im just going to get dirty again." Wow really, you will always just get dirty again, does this mean you should never shower!

  • I have this issue with my 12 yr old. Even brushing her teeth and washing her face...
I hope she'll grow out of it. She does brush her hair and sorta seems to care about her hair.
Hoping she'll care when school starts again. But with us the summer is without routine...
I like the school year when we have more of a routine in place. Where everyone takes showers and has bedtimes, ect.

  • Yes, I did when she was 11 but now that she is almost 13 I haven't for almost a yr. If she at least washes her hair everyday and face and showers every other day that would be a plus. Maybe she's just used to you telling her. Have you tested the waters if you just don't say anything how long it takes her?
