  • Routine. Give him/her a bath, put on jammies, brush their teeth, put them in bed read a book, and turn the lights off. If they get up, tell them nicely that it's bed time and put them back in their bed. The routine gets them ready to sleep every night, it might take a week or two for them to catch on. Good luck. I give my kids warm milk before bed too, idk if that helps them sleep or not, but it's part of their routine.

  • The proper way for you is a way you decide you want to work for your kids.

What we do....go upstairs when it's time (8-8:30pm), brush teeth, climb into bed, cover them up, say "goodnight" and walk out of the room shutting the door behind us.

Baths/showers energize these guys, they're not relaxing for them. They change into pajamas at least 1/2 hour before bed.

Reading books gets them excited, not relaxing for them.

Giving drinks before bed...bad idea for us as the younger two leak through their diapers/bedtime britches and makes the older one have to get up in the middle of the night disturbing his sleep.
