  • Oh...And rinsing mouth with warm - salt water --- helps with swelling and preventing infection!

  • I'd lean towards children's motrin for the anti-inflammatory effects in addition to the pain relief.

  • A trip to the dentist to remove the decayed tooth before her mouth becomes infected. Try Biotene mouth rinse, cancer patients use it to help with the mouth sores they get. Try a warm salt rinse, ibuprofen. Teach her how to swallow the pills, it might hurt her mouth less than chewing the pills.

  • The dentist is the only relief she will get. My husband just had a tooth go bad and no amount of any meds would touch the pain. He had it pulled and the pain was instantly gone. See the dentist ASAP.
