Looking to replace old sliding glass doors on my sun room (lets heatin in the winter)sould I replace with new energy eff. ones ? ( no winter sun heat in the winter)

  • You're probably losing more heat through the old glass doors than you're gaining from the light they provide, so I'd say you should go with energy-efficient ones.

  • Absolutely. Whenever you have to replace anything these days, it pays to install energy-efficient replacements. There is a LOT of heat lost through windows and doors. The extra cost of energy-efficient doors could pay for itself in lower heating bills. Also, the efficient doors are less drafty, so you will feel more comfortable. And finally, there might be an energy tax credit on the repair - check with your tax man about that.
