Are you afraid of heights?

I just went to the Seattle Space Needle and was terrified. This is new to me. I've been to the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Bldg, Grand Canyon.....and never felt this way. What happened?

  • Deathly, I live in Seattle and have been up twice and only twice never again. Escalators freak me out. I cant go to concerts unless I'm on the floor in front rows.

  • Depends. I can handle things like big buildings. However, rides where there is only open space around me freaks me out.

  • Yes I am. I don't even go on high rides. I'll just stay on the terra firma, and watch everyone else! And, DH is just the opposite. He was airborne in the Air Force, and loves all that.

  • Yes and no. I'm not bothered by flying or being in a skyscraper, but looking over a high railing bothers me, even if it's not very high.

  • Nope, I went skydiving for my 45th birthday and had a blast. Also, when I was younger I was a telephone installer and had to climb telephone poles. If I was scared of heights I would never have been able to do those things.
