Is this ok, what do you think and what do you do?

My 10 day old sometimes wakes up every two hours to eat And sometime every three hours he will eat 2 and a half oz at the two hour wake up and sometimes up to 4oz at the three hour feeding and sleeping 4 to five hour at night Is this ok and what do you do?

  • That's totally expected. Newborns need to. Eat every two to three hous day or night.

  • He should be eating 8 - 12 times a day. The 5 hour stretches at night are an added bonus. Sounds like a great schedule. I hope it continues!

  • Sounds like you have it easier then a lot of moms with newborns! I remember feeding every hour or two at that age. It's normal, and you should feed on demand.

  • My 12 week old is on the same schedule that he was as a newborn--eating 4 oz or so every 3 to 4 hours, with an occassional 5 hour stretch thrown in some nights.

    Your baby's schedule sounds spot on!
