Can you get splinters from hard wood floors?

My mama has hard wood floors in her living room. My son got two splinters in his feet,do you think they came from there?

  • If they are properly sanded and sealed. then he shouldn't get splinters from the floors inside the house. Now, outside on a deck is different.

  • Yes, you can! Are they well cared for? If not maybe she should get them refinished.... When you refinish a hard wood floor you're less likely to get a splinter from it!

  • I'm sure they did!! If they are not smooth, it happens. My floors are hardwood but we try to keep 'em smooth.

  • Probably. If they're not properly sealed, then yeah, they're wood. Wood has splinters.
