Does taking out the uterus mean a hysterectomy?

The other day I went for my pap and the dr. told me that my bladder has fallen she said she would have to take out the uterus to put my bladder back in position....WTF??? I was feeling fine before I went there and now this is all I am thinking of. Back in Nov 2010 she told me I had a bump on my cervix but 8 months later she says nothing about it only my bladder...hmm?
Kind of makes me wonder if dr. really see something or does it go away ? Or maybe it's a lie...idk
Thanks!

  • The bump on your cervix could have been a Nabothian Cyst which are common and are harmless as far as the fallen bladder I googled the term and ran across this site http://urogyn.org/fallen_bladder.html. I suggest you do some research before considering something so drastic as a hysterectomy. As previous posters suggested please get a second a opinion or even a third opinion. I pray all goes well!

  • A full hysterectomy includes removing the uterus and the ovaries.
