Is it safe to drink Silk Pure Almond (soy milk) while pregnant?

I've been hearing a lot of conflicting stories...I'm almost 17 wks pregnant.

  • soy is not recommended, but if you are going to drink any soy please buy it organic, the pesticides used on soy are now being tracked in people because of adverse effects onbabies and young children. Even the elderly.

    Almond milk shouldn't be an issue, but almond milk is not soy milk mind you

  • I don't know a lot about it, but I'm lactose intolerant and I drank soy throughout my pregnancy (we didn't have almond milk around here at the time). Next time I'll be drinking almond, if for no other reason than the fact that I like it a lot better. I've never read anything concrete about it being safe or unsafe, so as far as I know it's one of those things no one can agree on. If you're drinking the almond, why are you worried about soy, though?

  • Silk Almond milk is made from almonds, not soy, and is very good for you! I'm pregnant and that is what I am using too. Very safe, so no worries. :)
