Did you do anything special with your kids' names? Rhyming, spelling, starting with the same letter?

My siblings and I all start with the same letter...K.

My father and his siblings are rhyming: Sheri, Gary, and Mari.

My kids all have the letters "t-h-e" in their names: Blythe, Esther, and Katherine.

  • All of our family starts with K, too.

My MIL and FIL (a D and a V, for the record) had five children, all Ks. The youngest married me, a K. I didn't really want to carry it on, but gambled on the first child (that she would be a boy, who would be a K Jr, but called by the middle name D, thereby breaking the trend in our family). Clearly, I lost. So both of our girls are Ks.

  • My children have common names with uncommon spellings. My sons name (spelling) was derived from the Gaelic form of my husbands name and my daughter was named a feminine version of a Slavic god, and spelled obviously as such.
