Why are there so many craft projects at the library's summer reading program? I think it should be about reading not making a stick horse.

Most of the crafts go along with a story that they have read. Doing a craft that is based off the book gets their hands busy and helps the child relate that to the story. This helps with reading comprehension and is an excellent way for kinetic learners to learn.
