Lupus Pregnant and refered to a endocrinologist?

Why would my regular dr refer me to a endocrinologist for lupus? Im 26weeks pregnant and have had lupus since i was 15 i recently went to see my regular dr for concerns about lupus affecting the baby and myself and i thought she was gonna refer me to a new RA dr instead i get a call from endocrinologist? How will this dr help?

  • Sometimes lupus can be hormonal, but if you aren't having issues, I'm surprised he referred you to a dr. I have sjogrens syndrome which is related to lupus and because of it I was diagnosed as high risk, but I've never seen an endocrinologist.
