How much should my 2 week old be eating

My son is formula feed. His eating habits seem really weird to me. He'll eat an oz an hour or 2 oz every 2 hours. It flops so much and sometimes he'll even want 3 oz. With my oldest he would eat 2 oz every 2-3 hours. I know every baby is different but I just wanted to know if this is normal or if not what can I do for him to eat a good amount and be happy with how much he ate.

  • It is normal, depends on how hungry he is the first thing. If he is eating an oz every 2hrs then maybe he is not hungry enough to eat but just wants to suck on something, so try a pacifier, and if he is hungry he should eat 2oz or 3oz and be good for another 2hrs.

  • babies are generally demand fed for the first couple of months before settling into a pattern. Sounds pretty normal to me.
