What is a healthy alternative to chips and popcorn?

Popcorn is healthy if you dont put butter on it. Lots of fiber, very little fat. Healthy alternitive? Carrot sticks, fresh fruits, raisins.

Popcorn itself is not necessarily bad...It depends on how it was made. Popcorn that has been air-popped with NO salt and NO butter is not "bad". Microwave popcorn is not good....

You also make your own "chips" cut some potatoes, lightly spray them with oil, seasoned with garlic, and bake in them in the oven....

Popcorn with out salt and butter is actually good for you...its considered a whole grain.

Get the baked chips like "Baked Lays" they are good. Also, granola bars, mini-rice cakes that come in chip flavors like sour cream and onion, bbq, and cheese. Also nuts like almonds are really good for you. Trail mix too. Gives you a natural energy boost.

Air popped popcorn is a great alternative to microwaved butter popcorn as well as chips. If you don't have an air popper you can buy brown paper bags (a huge stack of them near the ziploc bags costs like $1) and a bag of unpopped popcorn. Place kernels in the bag. fold the top down and tape it, and cook as you would regular micro-popcorn (until there are only a few 'pop's every few seconds, and popping has slowed down). Open and enjoy!
As for chips, you can try getting a lightly salted pita chip, or even make homemade pita chips with your own spices on them!
