Do you do at least one thing per day to help the environment?

I try to conserve where I can.
*Replaced paper towels with re-usable cloths.
*Return and recycle all my plastic bottles and cans.
*Grow a garden.
I try to think of one thing I can do each day to not be wasteful.
Do you? If so...what? (If we all do 1 thing, we can make a difference!)

  • I turn off the water when I brush my teeth. I recycle glass, all paper, plastics, and metals. I use a clothes line. Hubby and I share bathwater at night, etc.

  • I use reusable grocery bags. I know that's not every day, but I use more than 7 bags per week, so on average, that's one thing every day.

  • I try to use less water, electricity

  • We only use reusable bags at the grocery, turn off the lights in any room we are not in, and unplug all appliances, etc when we are not using them. So DH 50+ in TV is not plugged in unless he is watching it. We stopped buying bottled water and just put a filter on our faucets. We want to grow a garden, but I haven't been able to start that one yet.

  • We recycle, I wash my clothes at 30 degrees or under (if their soiled I'll raise the temp). And since we've had a little energy monitor that shows how much electricity and energy we use, I'm really quick in the shower!

  • Use less water and electricity. I cloth diaper when I can. Other things too but nothing really daily.

  • I recycle and turn lights off.

Answer by KTMOM at 1:42 PM on Jul. 13, 2011

  • I recycle paper, cardboard, and glass. I use rags instead of paper towels, and I am very careful with my water usage, as well as my electricity. I don't unplug stuff all the time though.
