Did you find people would check your ring finger for a wedding ring when you were pregnant?

I was 23 when I had my first baby and I constantly saw people looking at my left hand. I assumed they were looking for a ring. When they saw one they'd do a double take as if she's not old enough to be married let alone pregnant. I wonder though if I just thought they were looking for a ring because I was a new bride and very aware of things then.
I was just wondering another Q about looking younger brought this back to me.

  • Not at all. I was looked at weird because I was 24 but looked 16 so people thought I was a pregnant teen.

  • Nope. I couldn't wear my wedding ring for most of my pregnancy. I wore it on a chain around my neck.

  • My fingers swelled, so my ring was off the last two months of pregnancy... I was VERY self-conscious without it, thinking that others must see me as that unmarried pregnant lady... But the paranoia eventually went away.

  • I was 28 when I got pregnant with my first and I noticed that a few times. I didn't wear my ring because it didn't fit while I was pregnant. There were probably some judgmental people who thought I was unwed and pregnant but I didn't care.

  • well, people always do look to see if i have a wedding ring on when i'm out with the 3 kids (and also when i was pregnant). i have even had some people say i'm doing such a great job raising the kids by myself, etc. i politely told them i am indeed married but my finger is too fat for my ring since i was pregnant with the first kid. honestly i don't see why it's any of their business anyway. and i don't even find it wierd that me and my husband don't wear our wedding rings.....my parents never did either.

  • People looked, and some even asked. But, a lot of women cant wear their rings, especially when they get real big, so I dont think people really know wether to judge or not...LOL

  • I was able to wear my rings with the first 2 pregnancies but with the 3rd my fingers got so big as I gained that I haven't worn my rings in 3-4 years. Dh doesn't wear his either, he used to but with him working he won't and would often forget to it on when he got home. I hope I loose weight soon enough so I can wear them again. I love my wedding and engagement rings!!! Dh has a pretty rocking ring too!

  • AH yes all the time!! I hated it. Or people would say oh I bet your husband is just so excited!...then give me weird looks when I'd say I'm not married. Grr

  • I didn't have kids until later in life. In my 20's and 30's I can't tell you how many times women at work would look at me like I was a freak because I DIDN'T have kids yet. Some would ask me why I didn't . One woman asked me if it was because I didn't want to get fat! Another told me if I waited until I could afford it then I would never have one at all! Most women would just ask what I was waiting for. I would usually tell them "A husband". People are just rude. Don't concern yourself with what busy bodies think or say!! It will make you crazy.
