Rupert Murdoch's media empire has been strangely silent over the hacking scandal that has engulfed his newspapers in the UK and has made media headlines in the US and other countries . Not a word on Fox News and as far as I know the only Murdoch property in the US which has mentioned it is The Wall Street Journal .
The enormity of the scandal seems to be increasing daily and now it appears that there may be a lead to similar practice by his employees in the US . It has already jeopardised if not nixed Murdoch's attempt to acquire major TV interests in the UK.
Under the circumstances it is amazing that his media outlets in the US have chosen to ignore it completely . I suppose they are unable to do or say anything until word comes down from The Big White Chief as they do not have editorial independance from his personal direction . I suppose the WSJ has a better educated editorial team who can be relied on not to rock the Murdoch boat .
Any comments on the implications for media transparency of this censoring of a major news item by the Fox Empire ?
