Bleach in toilet tank?

i'm sure this is probably a stupid question, but i just wanted to be sure. i usually have clorox bleach tabs in the toilet tank and was wondering if a splash of liquid bleach would be okay to put in there until i get new tabs?

  • Yes - as long as you don't have a septic system.

  • I wouldn't put it in the holding tank or it will dry out your flipper in the bottom and then you will have to get a new one.

  • Bleach is fine, but like Missanc said, if you have a septic system I wouldn't use it. It will kill the good bacteria in your septic tank and that will cause you grief.
