At what age do yorkies go into heat

I have an 8 month old female and I'm starting to wonder when to expect it

Here is an excellent site for you about Yorkies and heat cycles (above). Oh a Yorkie...could you post a picture????? I've always wanted one for myself ever since I was a little girl....since I have a family..we had to compromise on which breed we went with. Hubby & kids won. I'll take one when you breed her, lol.
Heat cycles can start around 6mos or anytime after....it depends on alot of things. If they are indoor/outdoors more etc. Anyway...I hope the link helps.

  • A relative of mine has a boy and girl yorkie and she says when the girl goes into heat, the estrus is barely noticeable.

  • Awwwwwwwww....she's SO CUTE!!! I'm like a kid in a candy store with Yorkies and Dachshunds.....so , so cute. Yep, she's gonna be your little cutie pie snuggle bug......LOL..
Love the name....it suits her very well I think! Thank You for posting the pic! Yorkies have gotten sooo expensive these days. I look in the paper and I just can't believe how they've gone up. I WILL have one in next couple years, LOL.

  • I agree with Acid- Get her Spayed before she even goes into heat & then it is No Worries.. i have a Chiuahua/Yorkie mix & i could not imagine making her go through pregnancy & birth- Two Pounds is So Tiny; she will probably have problems..

  • She isn't done growing, I was told she has a little more to grow... and yes yorkies are expensive but I got her for free! because the family that has her mom and dad, well they didn't want any money from that litter, sad thing is my puppies parents have already had another litter just a month ago.
