Ever made Salmon Patties? So many varying recipes.

What all do you put in yours? Some recipes call for bread crumbs some for saltines.

  • I used saltines before I learn I had a wheat allergy. Now use ground up rice cakes.

  • I just made these! I always check Red Tricycle's recipes, since they have so many good ones that my daughter loves. Here's the link: http://www.redtri.com/quick-easy-kids-recipe-salmon-fish-cakes (They call them fish cakes, but I think it's the same thing.) I served with tartar sauce bc Ro loves it.

  • Some recipes say to roll them in saltines crackers and some say to add the crackers to the mixture. One recipe said to add 66 or 3 cups of saltines to the mixture. That seems too much.

  • How much salmon are you working with. I use two 16 oz cans and about about a cup of crumbs.

  • Do not like salmon patties, my mom used to burn them and make us eat the burnt ones. So never tried them since. Good luck!

  • It's been years since I made salmon patties. I used bread crumbs or saltines, whichever I had on hand and an egg to hold everything together.
