How many times do you use a towel before washing?

Another post got me thinking: how often do you reuse a towel before you wash it?

  • Twice - depends on if I just used it to cover my wet hair or something - then maybe a couple other wipe my hands on after washing them....

  • LOL- This is so funny to me because my dh and I disagree on this all the time. I can use the same towel all week long, no poblem, as long as the towel is air dried after each use. My dh on the other hand, MUST have a fresh new towel after each use...I think "how wasteful", he thinks "how dirty"!!!

  • I want a clean towel every time. The idea of reusing a dirty towel is really gross to me.

  • In the kitchen I change them every other day. In the bathroom we use beach towels for baths and showers. We use them twice before washing. My husband will use his sahving hand towel about 3 times. I generally change those on Sunday and Wednesday. Washcloths, one use only.

  • We use our bath towels several times before washing them. You're clean when you get out of the shower (hopefully if you did it right!), so all you're really doing is wiping off water (and maybe a few dead skin cells which fall off anyways all over the house and in your bed). So it seems wasteful to me to only use them once, especially towels for the hair (although I use a turbie twist for my hair).

Kitchen towels we use several days, but wash rags are a 1-day only thing. Beach towels we use a few times as well.
