  • Call the school and ask when the lists come out if the school does not have a standard list, you can ask if he has been assigned a teacher and have the teacher call you.

  • I alwasy buy the box the school puts together with all the supplies in it. They all go into the teachers cabinet for classroom use anyway. DO you know anyone who has older children that went to the same school? You could ask them what supplies they had to get.

  • Doesn't your school have a Kindergarten orientation at least a week or so before school starts? I'm surprised. I do know that they kindergartners use those big Ticonderoga pencils, and the chuncky (big) crayons. You'll probably need, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, wipes, scisors, glue, big white or pink erasors, and a few packs of xerox paper. That's the list we get every year and then some things are added based on grade. I hope that helps.

  • Have you checked the school district's website for the list from last year? That might give you some ideas at least. Here is the Full-day kindergarten list from my son's former school:

    $20 for in-class, shared supplies
1 backpack to carry 8.5x11 folder
1 Folder with pockets in the bottom
    1 1" 3-ring binder
    1 box kleenex
1 box 1-gallon ziplock plastic bags
    1 container baby wipes
    1 container disinfectant wipes
    Colored Pencils
    Skinny markers
    Wrapping paper
    paper plates
    colored yarn

  • Both of my sons went to different schools for kindergarten - neither required a supply list for students.
