What are peoples oppinions on a man wearing an "engagement ring"

I don't mean a man wearing a big ol' diamond I mean a nice band. Also what about men who want to wear one because they don't feel the woman should be the only one who is visibly taken.

  • my husband wore a, I quess it was a promise ring, before we were married. He wore it up to the day we got married. He actually told me one day that he wished men had an engagement ring.

  • i think it's fine but i wouldn't want to pay for it. so i personally wouldn't get one. i still have women hit on my man with his wedding band on. sometimes it's hard to tell. i've had men hit on me too with my engagement ring and wedding ring.

  • I'm glad to hear women like this idea. I just got my fiance a tungstan carbide band for Christmas because he said in passing one day that he can't wait to have a ring on his finger AWWW. I had it engraved inside with the words, "my love" that's what I call him, (he calls me his heart), and our wedding date. He is the kind of man who crys easily when he is touched by something so I can only imagine what this will do.

  • I think its a little odd. Not bad, just different but stll sweet. Just expect to get some confused looks when you tell them its an engagement ring.

  • I don't care about the looks, I don't think we'll get any and if we do, oh well were happy. ;-)

  • happyathomemum---oooo . . so sweet!! What a sensitive man you must have!! God Bless you both. I wanted to buy mine a ring for Christmas, but I didn't want it to be too much like a wedding band since it's not yet official, but now I'm feeling a little more confident about maybe exchanging the beautiful bracelet that I have bought him for a ring. Confusingly enough, he thinks I am getting him a pool table(his friend's girlfriend told me), so now I am wondering if I should just take the bracelet back and get a pool table. Christmas gifts are so tough for someone who almost has everything.

  • I am so very happy with the outcome of this question!!! BridgetC140 I know how you feel about getting someone stuff for Christmas who has almost everything, it was easy this year but next year is going to ge harder!!! He is insanely sensitive but still a real "man's man" God bless you as well.
