  • Same amount. Don't need a special recipe. You can substitute applesauce for oil in ANY recipe, the same amount. If a recipe calls for 1/2 cup of oil, use 1/2 cup of UNsweetened applesauce. You can even do half & half - 1/4 cup oil, 1/4 cup applesauce. It will give the final product a different texture - be aware! That's why I do half & half.

  • Just sub the oil with applesauce. Same amounts. Also you can use all egg whites. I do this for cakes as well. I think it taste the same.

  • It very much is possible. It's an even exchange, at least, that's how I do it.

And you won't notice a change in flavor, either.

  • I just made some with applesauce tonight. I just make sure that it's an unsweetened applesauce and use the same amount.

  • I thought applesauce was the substitution for the eggs?? lol In my vegan cookbooks, it's used as the binder instead of eggs.
