  • If only that were the case! While I know a great many wonderful, loving Christians, the cruelty of a handful of Christians is what inspired me to seek an alternative spiritual path. Religion, whether Christian or Muslim, has led to more violence and hatred than can be enumerated.

So strange that Christ, who taught love, inspires so much hatred in some of his followers.

  • All TRUE Christians will certainly try to be loving whenever possible, but NOBODY is perfect. We should be "like" Jesus, but may never achieve perfection until we are with him.

  • This life is a moment by moment walk. Christians, I am one, are not perfect or loving all the time. But, we have our moments! (smile)

  • I think it's pretty easy to figure out it's not true lol I don't know any Christian who's claimed to be completely loving and perfect all the time. Christian or not - noone is capable of being loving and perfect all the time (except Christ of course ;)) I think others often expect Christians to be. It sounds harsh but it's simply an unrealistic expectation and anytime you have unrealistic expectations your (general you) going ot get hurt and be disappointed.

Thankfully God uses our imperfections to "grow us" in the faith. If not, there would be no need to forgive one another. It's painful at times, but the result brings about a smoothing and softening to our rough edges.
