What can I do with this?

I have a pound of mild Italian sausage, and a bag of frozen (already thawed) country style hashbrowns. I'm at a loss of what to do with this.

Any suggestions?

  • My first thought would be biscuits with sausage gravy and hash browns on the side.

  • Brown the sausage like you would hamburger (if it's bulk, not in casings) and mix it in with the hashbrowns, then scramble some eggs (if you have some) and mix them in with it. If the sausage is in casings, then just stick it in the oven, and cook the hashbrowns up to go along with it. It'll just be kind of a breakfast for dinner kind of thing.

  • Yeah, the sausage is bulk - no casings.

    Thank you for the idea.

  • That's an awesome idea!

If the sausage HAD been in casings you could have slit the casings with a knife and still browned it up just like bulk. Just take the meat out of the casings. Provided the sausage is defrosted of course.

    Good luck!

  • Cook it like a corned beef hash only with italian sausage instead.
