How often do your parents see your kids?

My parents can't even remember my son's name so can you tell how much time they spend with him? I went to visit them the other day and my dad looked at my baby and was like, "Aww! Hi.. uhh.." And then I called my mother today just to talk and she asked, "So, where is Ta, er Ja, er what's his name? I forgot" I really wanted to say HIS name is Jaydon!!! YOUR very first grandchild's son is JAYDON! Yes, I'm not very happy right now, sorry.

  • wow thats really sad and mean :( im so sorry to hear that. but i think something must have happened between you and your parents that they wont really care about you and your own little family. :(

my grandparents (german) have a problem to pronounce our daughters name Corian. So they just call her by the middle name, which is Maja. But never could i imagine them not remembering there great-grandchilds name, much less would my parents forget their first grandchilds name. I see my dad every weekend (he is at work the whole week) and my mom we usually see every other day. My parents can barely live a day without seeing our daughter.

i think you should have a talk with your family. because thats really mean, that they wont even remember the name of your little baby :( it even hurts my heart to hear that.

  • My parents are both in different states. My Dad is in FL ...Mom is in NY. I'm in MA. I see my Mom every Holiday or when the kids have school breaks/vacations. Haven't seen my Dad in 5 years - his choice and he's missing out on some good memories.

  • My mom lives here. We can trade if you want, lol. Just joking! She has always been very involved as a grandma (My father and I are estranged, he's never even met the youngest) But his parents on the other hand...Well, at least they remember the kids' names. It's their loss, though.

  • mrobertson Thank you. =) But when I was pregnant my mom kept talking about how involved she would be. I called her when I was in labor and she didn't show up until the baby was already out and we were on our way getting switched to another room. That was the first sign I got that he wouldn't really know his grandparents. =(
