does anyone know how to get a 6 year old back into a car seat

i guess here in ohio they passed a law that a child from the age of 4 to 9 has to be in a booster seat now how am i going to get my son whos 6 to sit in a booster seat??????? anyone have any advise???????? thanks

  • Usually these laws have a grandfather clause. Kids who had already moved out of a seat are not required to be put back into one. So, look into that first. Do you HAVE to?

    Then, if you do have to or if you choose to, try stopping in a police station with him and have the police explain the law to him.

  • Most kids do! lol at least mine and my niece. Just remind him he has to sit in it because he could get hurt really bad if someone hit the car. Plus point out he can see out the window better ;)

  • Put the seat in and don't allow him to go anywhere with you without getting in his seat. Explain that it is so he is safe. If he fights it you could show him some of the crashtest videos they have on Youtube or other places online to show him how it's not safe to be in an adult seat belt at his age.
