What is a reaonable budget for a small wedding?

  • I just 'did' a friend's wedding right at $1500. There have been some that were $500. Mind you it depends on how much you are wanting. One of the most important things to help you not stress - is getting a coordinator - someone that will respect your wishes and not try to do their own agenda (aunt, church person, etc). One of the things I have noticed is an increase in older churches/chapels and having an "old fashioned" wedding. One of my favorites was the chapel bell rang the hour and that was the signal to begin the service. Friends want to help - let them. They are free and adds fun and memories. Have that meeting with friends & coordinator - tell them what you want and let the ideas start to flow. Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, Michael's etc are places that you can grab vines of greenery - sometimes 50% off.
