Now what the heck?

  • Yes, I think a lot of fat needs to be trimmed. But, the rules on CM, are that we can't "judge" or else we'll be on our high horses. we don't know the WHOLE story (both sides). So if we can't judge or hold people accountable (gasp, yes, I said it) on a small scale, well, why can we hold people accountable on a large scale? this world has gone SO crazy and we can't 'offend' others, well, now look where we are! we did this ALL to ourselves.

  • This was to be expected... I am not surprised or alarmed. Whoever voted for the bailout needs to be punished. And this includes the president elect!

  • The government does a lot of things that are completely stupid, it's not surprising. My mom works for the state of CA and the Govenor is trying to make all state workers take a two day a month furlow because CA is so broke but yet the legislators are giving themselves raises.

  • Applause to thunderlight! If you hold someone accountable to their words (including the words from which they ran a political platfrom) and then YOU JUDGE them based on those words, you are scrutinized. We vote these elected officials in office.

Who calls, emails, and makes sure they are living up to their campaign promises? Or do yuo only care when it is something you don't like?

  • Because we have a DEMOCRATIC Congress and DEMOCRATIC Senate, and coming soon to a depressed America...a DEMOCRATIC President!!!

And you think things are going to get better....hint...they're only gonna get WORSE....much worse!

  • I enjoy how a government for the past 12yrs that has allowed the lobby to grow by leaps and bounds is suddenly not to be blamed, but the congress that has held power for the past 160 government days and the president elect is 100% responsible.

What Wall Street has done is been greedy, what we have done is been greedy. (wow my English bites today). And Thunderlight, it is almost impossible to discuss something with you when you have to see some sort of difference in judging a person that is left with no choices vs. judging a person who has ample choices and robs others choices.

  • We do not live in a democracy, we live in a republic, anon 10:16. A true democracy is where the people make decisions on laws, in a republic, elected officials make decisions on laws... we have all of these rich, powerful people in office, and their sole job is to make more laws, write more bills, create more legislation. What else would you expect than the power hungry runaway train of tyranny we have on our hands now? I agree with you that things are going to get much, much worse under Obama's new "democratic" regime. This is not at the fault of democracy, true democracy is what this country needs, and has been starved of for years. People are getting too lazy to look in to things themselves, so we have congress people, and senators running rampant making new laws, and passing new bills that should not exist! This is, in many ways, the fault of the people, for letting America down.

  • Why the hell don't people just post the gist of what they're question is about instead of a stupid link. How annoying.

Answer by Anonymous at 2:34 PM on Dec. 22, 2008

  • Because it's too much to type in here smart mouth. If you don't want to copy and paste, then don't. Why waste your time writing a stupid response in Anon?
