It makes me sick ....Why so MUch MEDIA ATTENTIon??

Caylee anothny is not the only child this stuff has happend to, but yet so much media around the case. What is your take on why so much media? Lucrezia Gentile, a Brooklyn housewife, reported that her two-month-old son had been abducted, then confessed that she had drowned him in his bath. Reason: she could not stand his incessant crying. A year earlier, Michele Remington, a factory worker in Bennington, Vt., fatally shot her infant son with a .22-cal. handgun before unsuccessfully trying to kill herself. Kathleen Householder, of Rippon, W. Va., hit her two-week-old daughter in the head with a fist-size rock because she was "fussing"; Householder dumped the tiny body in a nearby river.

  • The anonyous said... The longer the case takes the more it gets out on the news and Caylee her case was crazy. I cant believe ANYONE in there right mind would do something like this to any child... All the stories we hear and things that happen are just not anything i can believe.. I have a almost 3 year old and somtimes look at her and think what i would do without her... Caylee got so much Media Attention because there was no body to be found, the mother didnt call her in missing for a month, and the case started in june/july....

  • If a story is easily solved there is no point to flash it in the media... NOT AT ALL! And sometimes they dont even have enough info to do so,....

  • There are 2 reasons, IMO...(1) because until they found the body, there was always a glimmer of hope the outcome could have been positive...what parent/grandparent/caregiver of a missing child wouldn't want the attention in the hopes that they find the child, and (2) because the mother told such an unbelievably ridiculous story and most people watching from the sidelines had a hard time processing such behavior.

  • When this story first surfaced it wasn't under the heading "mother's who kill their babies" it was an Amber Alert. Caylee was missing and had been for over a month. The mass media attention very well could have been a tool used by the law enforcement to get more info on her captors. Law enforcement often uses the media not only to alert the public but to emotionally affect the perpetrators into a situation where s/he may come forward or do something to further incriminate themselves. With these national cases you never know when the news is being manipulated by investigators.
