  • I still have a job. So many people can't say the same with this economy.

  • My family and friends, of course. My job and my students. That we are, as far as we can know, financially sound. That I am warm and well-fed and have a comfortable place to live. That I am reasonably healthy. That I live in the USA. My computer- my window to the world.

  • #4 sounds like "the man felt sorry for himself because he had no shoes, until he met a man who had no feet."

I am blessed by a stable financial position despite all the negative economic occurences. I am blessed with good health for myself and my family and I am looking forward to the holiday vacation with all of us home. I don't get along with my mother, she is a bummer at Christmas so we don't get together unless there are a few people around to buffer her nastiness, but at least my mother is alive and has great moments.

  • I have a house. I have a good job. My car is still running, thank GOD!, My son is a terrific kid. My SO is so kind and good to me. We are going to have a great Christmas despite how tight the budget is this year. I can honestly say I have friends that I can count on if I need them.

  • Holidays in 2006 I had only Top Ramen and Mac & Cheese to eat. Holidays in 2007 I was homeless and had NOTHING! This year I am room-mating with my adult daughter, reconciled with my family and spending Christmas with my 16-yo ds after three years without seeing him.

I'm just glad to wake up and have my first thought NOT be "where am I going to sleep tonight?" or "will I be able to eat today?"

Amazing how your perspective changes, isn't it?
