If the doctor said I am 1 cm and she can feel her head...does that have anything to do with being effaced?

  • Nope. Being effaced is how thin your cervix is getting, not how dilated you are.

  • Is it a good sign she can feel her head though?

  • That means that the baby is dropped and most likely right at the birth canal. My son was that way for 2 weeks, kinda... they could feel his head, but he wasn't "engaged" or pressing on my cervix enough to dilate.
