How many teeth does your 16 month child have?

my son is 16 months and has 6 teeth...everyone is always asking me why he doesn't have many is he supposed to have?

  • The range of "normal" is HUGE when it comes to teeth. Some kids turn one with no teeth. Some are born with a few teeth - both are normal.

    Your little guy will "catch-up" with his toothier age-mates. He will probably be teething for most of the coming 12 months since he still has 14 teeth to go to make a full set of primary teeth. If you are concerned, make a note and bring it up at his 18 month check up - but your doctor will tell you he's fine.

    And, because you asked, at 16 months my DD had 16 teeth.

  • My 16 month old has all of his teeth..He got the 4 teeth at a time.It varies but all my kids have all of their teeth by 9 4 month old got his first 2 teeth at 3 months old....t

  • My son didnt get any teeth until shortly after he turned 1, he is now 16 months and just has 6 teeth, i know how u feel, my nephew who is just 2 months older has a whole mouthful. but each child is different and ive been reasured its normal and ok!! :)
