Has anyone else noticed that the Iraq war seems to have dropped off the news interest?

Has anyone else noticed that the Iraq war fell out of the news interest? Now that they, (the media) won the election, they don't seem to car a wit about the war, the death count, etc. What is the current death count? Does anyone remember getting a daily or monthly death count? The brilliant media/Hollywood has apparently "moved on" to more "important issues", like unfettered bailouts to cover up their "October surprise"? (The manipulation of world markets?)

  • It's been this way for a long time...Even before the election the war took backstage to something else. It sucks because for the 150K troops over there (my husband being one of them), this is NOT on the back burner. I have to search to figure out what is going on. The MSM is more interested in the PE without a shirt or this Blagojevich mess than the war.

  • Mostly because they are probably waiting to see what Obama does when he takes presidency next month, and because the buy out is more pressing news to the media and really everyone. Those people are still flying there private jet planes, and not really saying where the money is going, although we know some of it went to bonus's for the executives etc, but not for the bank tellers we meet and greet. That's what sickens me.

  • They just finally have something to deter us from the war. That's all it is.

  • Try listening to NPR; the war coverage really hasn't stopped there. http://www.npr.org/templates/topics/topic.php?topicId=1010

The Associated Press does put out a current death toll on its news feed, but even when the war was front burner a lot of stations didn't run the toll. I remember people complaining that it made us look like we were opposed.

    Can't win for losing here.

  • It's because Obama knows he cannot withdrawl 6 months from when he takes office like he PROMISED. So they are making it NON NEWS. The liberal Media Spins EVERYTHING!

The Liberal Media can possibly dictate what the majority of Americans see as "Headlining" Information. So, this could be a possibility. I know most of our military friends are fed up with the news lack of showing the POSITIVE news out of Iraq. And many see it as a disgrace to their work and efforts.
