HELP! Can I use EV Olive Oil on my turkey instead of Veg oil?

Would the EVOO make it burn?

  • I googled it and found several places where olive oil was the recommended oil for roasting turkey, so go for it!

  • I don't know, I've used extra virgin olive oil for cooking on the stove top and it smokes. I've used it in cakes and it turns out fine, so maybe since your roasting your turkey it won't be a problem.

  • Yes you can use it. I use butter, but I use EVOO for chicken all the time.

  • I saw a chef saw say use EVOO on turkey for Thanksgiving and I treid it this year. It was great. I have also since used it on a whole chicken and it was great too.
