How far back do you go for work history when filling out a job application

I haven't held steady work in 10 yrs. due to being a sahm so do I just go back to 2001 and back

  • I never know. I've only had 4 jobs my entire life so they all fit but I don't know how necessary it is to mention that I worked at pizza hut when I was 16.

  • in your case i would list 5 years back from when you last worked.

  • I include all of my post-college jobs, no matter how far back. Of course, I have only had two jobs in the almost 15 years since I graduated.

    If the jobs are related to the job you are seeking, no matter how long ago, I would probably include them.

  • I think the norm is 10 years, but in your case you may want to go back a little further. You may want to include being a stay at home mom and include some of your responsibilities- maybe it'll make your resume more rememberable!!!

  • depends on what kind of job and the experience needed. in your case i would put something like " household manager" and list your hubby as your reference. :)
