  • LOL! Aw, nahhh. I looked it up, they're sorta the way they are because of the specific Christian group they belong to. I believe it's called the Quiverfull movement. There's a certain scripture or something that refers to a woman with a lot of kids as having a "quiver full of arrows." They welcome every new pregnancy as a gift from God, and don't use contraception or something to that extent. I believe that they consider themselves Baptists. I could be wrong, I read about it quite awhile ago.

But I don't think they're a cult, no. What they do is all very typical of some sects of Christianity. The whole not cutting your hair and wearing only skirts thing works for some people, I guess.

  • I don't think they're a cult. They're not trying to recruit or anything and don't talk about death or mass suicide. They're conservative. I like them. Cait is right about the Quiverful aspect.

  • Not all cults talk about death and mass suicide - just the unsuccessful ones!

As for the Quiverfull movement -- meh. Children ARE a blessing, but sometimes sex is just sex.

  • Honestly I find it a bit refreshing, A family with great family values and taking care of themselves.
I would be more like them if I still had a husband. Guess for now I will just read their book.

I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THEM TILL I READ YOUR QUESTION. HAD TO GO GOOGLE THEM.
SO I NOW HAVE A BOOK ORDERED LOL

  • I don't know because I don't know them personally so I can't judge but I don't agree with their parenting styles whatsoever.

  • I think they are so awesome! If I could have that many kids and live as they live, with love, happiness, no major financial problems, a beautiful house.....I definitely would! The parents are truly talented to make it work with so many children. And the children are so gifted, in being patient with such a large sibling abundance. I think they are soooooooo cool!!!!!!!
