cant keep anything down

my daughter got her 1 year old shots on the 19th, 1 was chicken pocs not sure what the other 2 were. but now she cant keep any food down she threw up last night at 4 am and 8 am. so this morning i tried giving her some fruit*one of those fruit cups* and she threw it all up.

what do i do?

  • I doubt it was the shots. It is most likely a cold she picked up around the same time.

    The critical thing is to keep her hydrated. Try pedialyte. Saltine crackers can help ease her tummy too. If she doesn't want to eat anything, don't worry. She can go days without food; that's what baby fat is for. She can NOT go a day without fluid.

  • Make sure she is drinking plenty of fluid. Stop her from getting dehydrated.  Feeding her crackers might help.

  • Probably not from the shots, since it was a week ago. Children that young can get dehydrated fast, so make sure she is drinking and peeing. It's probably just a virus, but since it's Friday you might want to call her doc to be on the safe side.

  • My Pediatrician has us give our kids Benadryl for nausea. If they can keep it down it works like a dream. He says that it has the same ingredients as Dramamine.....Good luck.
