I have a red itchy rash all over is this normal

Im 37 weeks pregnant and my skin is all itchy and sometimes it looks like a sunburn,and when I take a bath then my skin starts burning,and itches more

  • This sounds like dermatitis to me. Pregnant skin is really sensitive and should be treated gently. If you are relaxing in a bathtub make sure the water is not too hot and that you keep it under 20 minutes. Aveeno makes an oatmeal bath that can provide some relief and DO NOT use anything with any fragrance in it. Also, makes sure you seal in moisture with an unscented lotion (again, I like aveeno) The oatmeal really helps. If you stop using fragranced products and are still having difficulties, Call your Doc.

  • Ther is a rash that can be dangerous to your baby that can develop early in pregnancy i dunno bout later but i'd call your Dr.!!!!!

  • i get that on my hands. its just itchy, dry skin..no rash..sometimes it gets red after i wash my hands because it burns..i use Curel life stages pregnancy &motherhood lotion..you should try that.

  • Thanks for that link BridgetC140. I too have a red, itchy rash but don't even know if I'm pregnant yet (I could be 4-6 wks?). But my rash is only in certain areas, clustered in some spots, and very itchy! The website was informative so thanks again.
