  • You won't have to ask when you are. You will be certain. If you are asking, then go lay down and rest while you can, because your body probably is gearing up for the big show. It's not like on TV. Babies aren't born in the time it takes to see a half hour sitcom or an episode of The Baby Story. Your body goes through nine months of preparing for this and even labor itself has many stages. Rest while you can because you will need it later. Don't let the idea of pain scare you. You will be able to handle it otherwise the human race would have died out a long time ago. If you are planning on an epidural, you don't want it until you are pretty well dilated, like 6 or 7 cm. Having it earlier can increase your risk of C-section, and truly, it isn't really difficult until you get to that stage. Good luck. Just relax.

  • Its a little different for everyone i think. they say your first baby takes forever and is the most pain in the world ...most of my friends where like that but i didnt know i was in labor i just felt that something wasnt right. i really didnt get hard labor pains till i was about 5cm up untill then it just felt like i had to go poop hahaha. my water didnt break but i was dialated 3cm b4 i even went into labor

most women get lower back pain,a pink discharge comes out.....oh and watch for the mucus plug to come out in the days leading up to delivery (its like a milky white booger ...ew) your tummy wiill tighten and loosen every couple of minutes...and last but not least look out for your water to break...

dont go to the dr untill you are sure you need to cuz they will tell you to walk for an hour...if you dont dialate they send you back home so its just better to relax.

  • I agree that it's a little different for every woman but at the same time, it's the same (if that made sense lol). But DELILAH3408 said it pretty much to the point! Good Luck and Congrats!!!!
